The CAB has evolved and is now the Akash Accelerator Program.
In the past year, the Akash Community Awards Board has supported multiple web3 projects and development teams with funding ranging from $500 to $250,000. Akash has also provided operating support, marketing, mentoring, and technical support.
Some of these projects have become valuable functioning entities with a positive impact on both the Akash ecosystem, Cosmos, and the broader Web3 community.
Some projects of note include;
- Akashlytics: The Akashlytics Deploy Tool is a desktop application which simplifies the deployment process on the Akash Network. Post deployment, the tool provides a dashboard to view the status and details of workloads. The dashboard also has the ability to perform administrative tasks including closing the deployment, updating the deployment, redeploying, and increasing the funding available to the deployment.
- Moultrie Audits (formerly Akash Audit): Moultrie Audits is an infrastructure auditing company designed to increase technical security and uptime. The auditing process is specifically curated for Cosmos SDK projects with a focus on Akash Network that compiles security standards from the CIS, NIST, CSA, and many other organizations.
- Praetor: The Praetor application offers a streamlined mechanism to deploy an Akash Provider. The web app allows the creation of the necessary Kubernetes cluster and the Provider instance all from within an extremely user-friendly series of guided steps. In addition to the Praetor Provider build app, the team has created great tools for viewing current Akash Providers and a Provider revenue calculator.
- OpenRegistry: OpenRegistry is an effort to bring a change with the community’s own container registry which is Open and Free to use. A true decentralized entity with promise of scalability, reliability and transparency
The Akash Accelerator Program will continue to fund development teams building safer, smarter, and more resilient decentralized applications on Akash and the greater web3 ecosystem. Furthermore, the Akash Accelerator Program will help promising projects by providing them with the necessary resources and support to expedite their growth past the incubator stage.
The Accelerator is designed to incubate and accelerate the growth of startups who plan on actively contributing to web3 and decentralized computing, while providing mentorship, resources, and training for all facets of a startup including product positioning, user acquisition, revenue strategy, marketing, team formation, fundraising, etc. As part of the funding, Akash will retain on a convertible basis, a 2% equity position in accelerator participants. Accelerator applications will continue on a rolling basis throughout the calendar year.
Akash will remain actively engaged with each of the participants and will continue organizing round table conversations, presentations, and hands-on mentorship led by the Akash team. A Demo Day will be hosted at key milestones.
